Washington Department of Natural Resources recently released a case study featuring MARS (linked below) as part of a larger state commissioned effort to better understand the growing interest in community forests. The report seeks to quantify the economic impact of the Mt. Adams Community Forest, using data from contracts that we have let in recent years and our stewardship work on community forest and adjacent lands. We appreciate the analysis and good work that were put into this, as well as contractors, board members and neighboring landowners that shared their perspective with the research team from the University of Washington and the Washington Environmental Council.
