MARS’ Forest Stewardship Network is growing!

In early August our online forest contractor directory the Forest Stewardship Network, will be receiving several significant upgrades. The development team at The Gorge Project has been working on improvements including a simplified interface, improved search function, and faster operating speeds. Most significant, though, the site will be expanding from its current eastern Washington focus to include all of Washington and Oregon. This expansion will bring increased opportunity, but through its county-based organization, FSN will always be a locally focused tool.

Over the next several months we will be working with the WSU Extension service, the Farm Forest Association, the Contract Logger’s Association, and a large group of consulting foresters to get the word out about this important tool. You can help. If you are a forest landowner or contractor, go to www.forest-stewardship.net and sign up. If you know someone who would benefit from the site, let them know too. Look for us on August 15 at WSU Extension’s Family Forest Field Day in Raymond, WA too. Thanks to everyone who has made the first year on the site a success!
